Chevrolet Models We Service

Chevrolet shares key platforms with GMC, Buick, and Cadillac — they all run on GM’s key architecture. That means if you have a Silverado, Equinox, or Tahoe, the same tools that program a Sierra or Yukon work for yours too. We carry GM-compatible programming equipment for every generation. Here’s what’s specific to each major Chevy model.

Silverado
Equinox
Malibu
Traverse
Tahoe
Colorado
Suburban
Trax

Chevrolet Silverado

The Silverado is the most common Chevrolet key job we handle across Philadelphia. First-gen Silverados (1999–2006) used GM’s Pass-Key III system with a Philips ID46 transponder chip — OBD programming with a two-key learn procedure. The 2007–2013 Silverado stepped up to the B111 Z-keyway high-security blade. The 2014+ Silverado uses the B119 blade with GM’s extended-security ID46 chip — requires a Tech 2 or equivalent programmer. The 2019+ Silverado moved to the HU100 high-security blank and added remote start fob integration on most trims. Lost all keys on a Silverado? We handle the full all-keys-lost procedure on-site — no need to tow your truck.

Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox is one of the most popular crossovers in the Philadelphia suburbs and a frequent call for us. First-gen Equinox (2005–2009) used the B111 Z-keyway with ID46 Circle+ chip. Second-gen (2010–2017) moved to the B119 high-security blade with GM EXT chip. Third-gen Equinox (2018–present) uses the HU100 blade and added a push-to-start proximity fob on LT and Premier trims. The Equinox is one of the few GM vehicles where we regularly get calls about the fob working for remote entry but not for push-button start — usually the proximity antenna, not the fob itself. We test both on-site before recommending any parts.

Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban

The Tahoe and Suburban are full-size body-on-frame SUVs sharing the same key platform as the Silverado. They’re popular in the Philadelphia suburbs — families who need the space. Pre-2007 Tahoes used the ID46 Pass-Key III system. The 2007–2014 models used the B111 Z-keyway. The 2015+ Tahoe and Suburban use the B119 EXT chip system. Starting with the 2021 redesign, push-to-start and remote start proximity fobs became standard on LTZ and Premier trims. These are heavy-use family vehicles — if you’ve got one key left on a Tahoe, we strongly recommend adding a spare on the same visit. Adding a second key while we’re already on-site costs a fraction of a second all-keys-lost service call later.

Chevrolet Malibu & Traverse

The Malibu sedan (2008–present) uses the B119 high-security blade on most model years, with the older 2004–2007 Malibu using the B111 Z-keyway. The current eighth-gen Malibu (2016–2024) added an available push-to-start system with a proximity fob on LT and Premier trims. The Traverse three-row crossover shares the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave — all use the B119 GM EXT system on the 2009–2017 generation and the HU100 blade on 2018+. If you have a Traverse with a push-to-start and a dead fob, don’t try to start the car by holding the fob to the ignition — that’s a different procedure on GM vehicles. Call us and we’ll walk you through it.

Chevrolet Colorado

The Colorado mid-size pickup is popular with trades people and weekend adventurers across the Philadelphia area. First-gen Colorado (2004–2012) used the B111 Z-keyway with ID46 Circle+ chip. The second-gen Colorado (2015–present) uses the B119 HU100-style blade with GM EXT chip. Higher trims on the 2015+ Colorado have Chevrolet’s remote start system integrated into the fob — losing that fob means a full OBD programming session to pair a new one. We carry Colorado blanks and programming software. If you need a spare key cut for a Colorado before a camping trip or job site season, give us a call and we’ll come to you.

Chevrolet Trax & All-Keys-Lost

The Trax subcompact SUV (2013–present) uses GM’s standard transponder system — B119 blade with ID46 EXT chip on the first gen, and an updated system on the redesigned 2024 Trax. For any Chevy all-keys-lost situation, the procedure is more complex than a standard key addition: without a working key in the system, we can’t use the normal two-key learn sequence. Instead we use our GM-compatible diagnostic tool to communicate directly with the BCM and reset the key memory. This requires VIN verification and proof of ownership — we do this on every all-keys-lost job, for everyone’s protection. It takes about 30–45 minutes on-site and we come to you wherever the car is parked.

Lost All Your Chevy Keys? We Come to You.

Chevrolet’s VATS and later transponder systems need at least one working key to clone from using the standard method. No working key means we go through the all-keys-lost procedure — connecting OBD2 equipment directly to GM’s immobilizer system to generate a fresh key from scratch.

We handle this on-site for every Chevrolet model from 1997 forward — Silverado, Equinox, Traverse, Blazer, Colorado, Malibu, Tahoe, Suburban, Trax, and more. No tow needed. Most jobs done in 30–60 minutes.

Before we arrive: find your VIN (dashboard or door jamb) and have your registration or title ready. We check ownership on every all-keys-lost job.
