BRAND INSIGHT
About Lincoln’s Key System
Lincoln is Ford’s luxury division and shares key programming architecture with Ford — but Lincoln keys cost more because the parts carry a premium and aftermarket compatibility is more limited. Pre-2011 models used Ford’s PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) transponder key, identical in protocol to the equivalent Ford model. Starting with the 2013 MKZ and 2015 Navigator, Lincoln shifted to Ford’s Intelligent Access (IA) system — a proximity smart key with push-button start and hands-free liftgate on Navigator.
Navigator and Aviator carry large-format smart key fobs that are significantly more expensive to replace than standard Lincoln keys. We carry Lincoln-compatible programming equipment for all models and give you a free phone estimate before we leave. All work done at your location — no towing your Navigator to a dealership.
Common Lincoln Key Problems We Fix in Philadelphia
- →Navigator smart key intermittent detection — proximity sensor issues common after battery drain. Reprogram on-site, 15–30 min.
- →Continental push-button start failure — transponder issue or BCM pairing loss. Full key replacement programmed at your location.
- →MKZ PATS anti-theft light on — transponder key not recognized by PATS module. We cut and program a compatible replacement.
- →Aviator key fob short range — battery swap usually fixes it, but sometimes needs BCM re-pair. We diagnose first, replace if needed.
Lincoln Models We Service
We carry programming equipment for all Lincoln models. Lincoln is Ford’s luxury brand and uses the same Intelligent Access key platform as Ford. We carry programming tools for all Lincoln models.
